People don’t understand what is involved in deciding on a gap year. You don’t just close your eyes, spin a globe, and see where your finger lands. Rather, you carefully research your options, brainstorm your goals, and choose a program and location only after investing a significant amount of time and effort. That’s how gap year programs are made. Gap Year Programs are designed to brand, develop and improve your for the life Journey ahead.
We, at China Internship Placements (CIP), are equally careful in deciding what we offer for our gap year program applicants. We put ourselves in your shoes and try to think of all the experiences you might want out of China, then include them as options in our packages.
However, we can’t think of everything, and there’s bound to be something you want that we hadn’t thought of yet. If that’s the case, don’t settle for disappointment, but contact us and we’ll figure out a way to accommodate your interests!
Whether you’re a backpacker who only takes off-the-beaten-track paths or a comfort-based traveler who doesn’t want to get your hands dirty—we have a trip for you! At CIP, we know not every applicant is made from the same cookie cutter, so we offer different group travel options for you to sign up with!
Have you always wanted to skydive? Do you want to try your nerves and bungee jump? Perhaps sleeping on the heights of the Great Wall under the open sky is more up your alley? Maybe you just want to hike every weekend—it doesn’t matter because CIP has you covered!
We’ve outlined the rising significance of Chinese language in the world to explain why you should study it, but we understand if you want your gap year program to focus on other options. You can dapple in Chinese language learning by only taking oral classes, or learning just enough to get by without an interpreter. On the other hand, if you want to dedicate the majority of your time to language learning, we can arrange for that as well!
CIP is called China Internship Placements (CIP) for a reason. We can definitely arrange for an internship or two to fill your gap year program, no matter the length! To learn more about our internship placements, take a peek at our internship pages. An internship in China opens more doors and increases your job prospects globally. Skills acquired while interning in China prepares you to fit into many Multinational Organizations.
Everyone has a different idea of what “cultural immersion” means. For some, it might be living with a Chinese host family and learning the culture and language organically. For another, it might be traveling to all the historic sights to gain a better understanding of how China has evolved over the years. And for some others, it might be taking a list of different classes, such as calligraphy, kung fu, cooking, etc. Whatever your definition of cultural immersion is, we have a program for you!
China is still a second world country, so there are many volunteer opportunities available. Previous CIP program participants have visited orphanages, sang with children, and taught English to rural kids. There are also opportunities to build or work for the rural poor, depending on the area you’re placed in.
Now you know what we have offered and can offer our Gap Year in China participants. Let us know what you’d like to do during your China Gap Year!
